American Idol Edit

Joy auditioned for the eighth season of American Idol in Salt Lake City, Utah. Although she was not one of the three finalists chosen by voters from her semifinal performance group, she returned as a Wild-Card and was selected by the judges to be a part of the Top 13. She is well-known for her strange dance moves, fairytale tattoo, quirky personality, unique voice, and obscure song choices.[2] Judge Kara DioGuardi described her as "having a way of putting her signature on everything she does".[3]
